Encore is both a family and community of faith. We believe that we are all hard-wired to walk in intimacy with God as our loving Father, and in relationship with each other courageously, vulnerably and wholeheartedly.
We value the pilgrimage of the heart. We believe that process is as important as the destination. Process requires time, patience, ownership and surrender. When this happens in the context and safety of family with an active parenting culture, healing, growth and transformation flow naturally.
We choose to live naturally supernatural lives full of hope and expectation, walking according to God's voice and enjoying His tangible presence. It’s from this place of intimate relationship that we are then empowered to be key players in seeing transformation in the broader communities we’re a part of.
We believe education brings transformation and we champion our community to live as learners both of scripture and of other great sources of inspiration.
Annie Layton is the Director of the Encore community. Annie grew up in the church, becoming an Intern Pastor at 19, having done her theological training straight from school. She's had a life-long love affair with the local church, having lead ministries for 30+ years. Annie has three adult children and lives in Hawthorn with her husband James, who started Encore with her 8 years ago. Annie's heart continues to be that people would feel known, celebrated and loved.
